Maasvallei Route

Discover the beauty of the Maas Valley during our 2-hour Maas Valley Route! We depart from the port of Maasbracht, one of the largest inland harbors in Europe. At the height of Stevensweert, we turn around and leave the Maas for a cruise on the Belgian recreational lake “De Spaanjerd.” On this lake, you can still find active dredgers extracting sand and gravel from the ground. During this cruise, you will learn exactly how gravel extraction works. We also sail past the Tegelhuuske, the marina, and the day beach De Steenberg. With a bit of luck, you may see a Galloway cow or a Konik horse along the banks of the Grensmaas. Look out for the signs of beavers, such as the gnawed trees along the banks, which reveal their presence! A significant part of this cruise is the RivierPark Maasvallei. This is a cross-border nature reserve that stretches along the Maas. In this park, you can find many different species of plants and animals. During the cruise, you will have the chance to experience this beautiful area from a unique perspective.
