During the boat trip you will enjoy a generous slice of Limburg pie from the 'Echte Bakker', with a choice of at least two flavors, such as cherry, apricot, apple and crumb. The crew serves fresh coffee or tea (1 cup per person) with the pie. For the kids we serve with the pie as an alternative lemonade, apple juice or orange juice (1 drink) or one other soft drink of your choice.

• You can order extra coffee / tea on the spot (€ 1.50 per extra cup)

Lunchdeal

A typical Dutch lunch at a Dutch price: Soft white and wheat rolls (2 pieces per person) generously topped with young matured cheese or boiled butcher's ham, a croquette roll with mayo or mustard, including fresh coffee, tea, or Limburg tap water (2 cups per person). For the kids, we serve a pancake to decorate themselves.

• For the kids, we serve (sugar-free) squash, apple juice, or orange juice (2 drinks per person).
• Extra coffee/tea can be ordered on the spot (€1.50 per extra cup).
• Please let us know if we need to take into account any diets or intolerances, such as gluten-free, sugar-free, or lactose-free.
• If you do not wish for the children aged 0 to 3 years to have a pancake with drinks, please let us know. The cost for the lunch will then be adjusted accordingly.

Burgundian lunch

Our Burgundian lunch has been upgraded to a more luxurious version. We start with a cup of fresh soup, served at the table. Following this, we present a beautiful assortment of oven-fresh mini bread rolls (choice of white and wheat) luxuriously and generously topped with:

• Limburg ham with honey-mustard dressing on a bed of iceberg lettuce
• Beef carpaccio with truffle cream, Parmesan, roasted seeds, and arugula
• Aged cheese with a tapenade of grilled bell pepper with black olive and arugula
• Freshly prepared salad of free-range eggs with classic garnish of cucumber, tomato, and lettuce
• Marinated salmon with chive cream cheese, mustard-dill dressing, capers, and red onion
• Black Tiger shrimp with cocktail sauce with tomato and lettuce

Included with the lunch are fresh coffee, tea, or Limburg tap water (2 cups per person). For the kids, we serve fruit squash, apple juice, or orange juice (2 drinks).

A generous 100-gram lunch croquette, filled with shredded meat ragout. The croquettes are served with mayonnaise and mustard. For children aged 4 to 11 years, there is also an option to order frikandels instead of a croquette.

Eating pancakes in Thorn

Eating pancakes in Thorn is of course done with the only real pancake baker, located in the historic center of the white town, on the opposite side of the impressive Abdijkerk. A visit to the Pannekoekenbakker is a party for young and old! There is a menu choice with no less than 250 pancakes, varying from sweet to savory. For the kids there is a super cool play cellar and they also receive feast coins with their pancakes, with which they can buy toys in 'De Kluis van het Huis', the toy store of the restaurant!

• You can walk to the Pannekoekenbakker in 600 meters from the jetty.
• Adults can choose a 'large' pancake from the entire menu.
• For the kids there is a children's pancake of your choice.
• For the non-lovers of pancakes there are alternatives to order.

Historical city walk Thorn

The white town of Thorn is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Limburg. Thorn was a miniature principality for over 800 years in the past, where ladies were in charge! Guided by a city guide, you walk past the white houses, monumental buildings, and historical squares, and the guide will tell you why the houses in Thorn are white... Of course, during the walk, you will also pass the impressive Abbey Church - a French cathedral - which is iconic from every angle in Thorn.

• Each guide takes a maximum of 20 people. Therefore, multiple guides are used for larger groups.
• A visit to the Abbey Church and/or museum is not standardly included but is possible for an additional fee.

Exploring the white town of Thorn without having to stretch your legs? That is possible during the nostalgic carriage ride! By luxury carriage, propelled by well-trained Friesian horses, you drive through the green countryside of Thorn and of course through the historic core itself. Along the way you will pass the white houses, monumental buildings and the magnificent Abbey. This trip is suitable for young and old and successful in all weather conditions, because the carriages can be closed.

Maas Inland shipping museum

Near our pier in Maasbracht lies the Maas Inland Shipping Museum with a versatile collection that reflects the rich history of shipping in Maasbracht. Moreover, the museum illustrates the evolution of a farming village into a significant mariners' center.

The museum's collection comprises various models and ship miniatures. One of the most fascinating models is that of the Ship Graveyard. This model depicts the havoc in the harbor after the Germans sank no less than 240 inland vessels. Additionally, there are various working models on display, such as a ship lift, lock, dry dock, and a shipyard. Photo exhibitions show how the skipper and his family worked and lived. Recently, a collection about Limburg's sand and gravel extraction was added; in the treasure room of the former bank building lies a horse skeleton discovered during dredging. Moreover, opposite the museum, a wheelhouse has been realized with a fully equipped cockpit; from this wheelhouse, you have a beautiful view of the harbor.

The Maas Inland Shipping Museum is open on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00. A visit to the museum outside these opening hours is also possible for groups of 10 people or more. If you are with fewer people, the entrance fee for at least 10 people will be charged outside these opening hours.

The new Who-What-Walk Quiz© is an interactive outdoor pub quiz where you need to score 100 points within 100 minutes. You'll use an app that allows you to answer various fun and original pub quiz questions at different points as you walk in small groups. The more difficult the question, the more points you can earn. Questions are divided into various categories, such as sports, music, local, or films, and you can choose your own route.

You'll head out in groups of 5 or 6 people with the goal of reaching exactly one hundred points as quickly as possible. Expect fun questions, videos, and music clips. There are also booby traps hidden, and at some points, you score negative points. It’s most fun to play this with several groups competing against each other, turning it into a real competition. You'll walk through the historic town of Thorn, beautiful meadows, and along the Maas river.
