Upgrade Stadt Wessem

Acoustics

Although the interior of the Stadt Wessem dates back to only 2016, a new ceiling has been installed in recent weeks. The reason for this was the poor acoustics. Because we had chosen for tighter materials during the last interior modifications, the acoustics had significantly deteriorated. This was a considerable blemish on that predominantly successful renovation. Since the ship would be out of service for a few months anyway due to the renewal of the engines, we decided to immediately renew the ceiling. The ceiling now consists of Rockfon stone wool panels with the highest possible acoustic properties. This means that we now also guarantee a pleasant ambiance in which enjoyable and clearly understandable conversations can be held at the table.

Climate Control

The ship was only partially equipped with air conditioning, and expanding it was really only feasible by installing ceiling units; a complicated and expensive task! From this season, both salons on board are equipped with a new climate control system with powerful cooling capacity and also the ability to heat more energy-efficiently. Moreover, this system includes a supply of fresh air, which also greatly improves ventilation on board. This installation is listed on the RVO Environmental List and is a highly efficient and environmentally friendly climate control system that will largely replace the 'old' oil boiler. Apart from extra comfort, this also represents another significant sustainable contribution to the environment by the greenest shipping company in Limburg!
