Partyschip Maaslakei

The ship 'Maaslakei' was launched in April 2019 as a thematic party ship and event location. This ship, formerly known as Cascade, is a striking presence in the central Limburg Maasplas area. Both the exterior and interior themes of 'Limburg sand and gravel extraction' are executed in high quality and in great detail.

Boarding the 'Maaslakei' immerses guests in this theme on both the upper and lower decks. Elements such as Maas gravel, dredged wood, and rusted steel give the 'Maaslakei' an industrial look. A highlight is the staircase that references the dredgers that were active in Limburg's gravel pits for a long time. The theme is brought to life through word and image with the help of audiovisual means.

For events, one of the spaces can be set up as a reception area, with space on the other deck for a follow-up program, such as a buffet dinner. Groups of up to 48 people can simultaneously use the buffet, which is, of course, set up in the same space.

Accessibility

The lower salon is accessible for wheelchair and scooter users via a platform lift. The upper salon and the upper deck can be accessed with a chair lift. There is an accessible toilet available; however, assistance is needed for restroom visits. The maximum wheelchair width for entry is 80 cm.

Sustainable Engine Technology

In 2023, a new propulsion engine Volvo Penta D8 stage V (300 hp) was installed along with a new transmission and propeller. Stage V represents the strictest emission standard for particulate matter and nitrogen. Thus, the emissions from all engines on this ship meet the climate objectives set for the inland shipping sector in the Green Deal. For passengers, this means no nuisance from exhaust fumes and more comfort due to the significantly reduced engine noise.

Nautical Equipment

The ship is equipped with the most essential nautical equipment and fully complies with the regulations of the Inspection for Living Environment and Transport. The ship has a daylight radar for responsible navigation during foggy periods. Additionally, the ship is equipped with a unique stabilizer to keep the ship as balanced as possible during navigation.

Preventive technical maintenance is carried out annually to ensure continuity. For example, the onboard electrical installation was completely renewed in 2019 and meets the strictest new construction standards.
